Peter Pan is set to wing its way to Doncaster Racecourse this Christmas - and producers are looking for South Yorkshire talent to take on the role of Wendy Darling.

Producers David Lee and Stadium Entertainments Events Ltd are launching their “Search for Wendy” open auditions aimed at attracting Doncaster and South Yorkshire talent to appear in the timeless J. M. Barrie fairytale at the Town Moor track over the festive season.

However - applicants can be no taller than 5ft 3in and must be a size 8/10, among other conditions on the role.

“We have always had a great response from the very talented array of artists in the region over the 15 years we presented record-breaking pantomimes at the Civic Theatre,” said Mr Lee.

“I’ve always been very impressed with high level of the talent here in the north. I for one am looking forward to seeing who comes through the door on. Hopefully we’ll find a budding new star! It’s a great opportunity,” he added.

The show will star Sally Thomsett from the golden age of TV sitcoms like Man About The House and hit movies The Railway Children plays Mrs Darling. There is also the welcome return of comedy favourite Pee Wee Price in the role of Smee.

“Wendy of course will fly to Neverland along with Peter and her brothers Michael and John who have already been selected to appear in the production,” commented Mr Lee.
