The Fellowships provide a unique opportunity for British citizens to travel overseas to explore new solutions to today’s issues. Emma’s application was in the category ‘New Approaches to Social and Affordable Housing’.

She said: “I’m going to spend four weeks in different areas of America, to learn how intergenerational housing projects work and how to make them successful. I really want to bring back lots of learning points and to work with the National Housing Federation to share my learning within the Housing sector.

“We have a rapidly aging population, and need to explore new ways of working to bring the older and younger generations together to live in communities.”
