Unique Doncaster railway pub celebrates birthday as it prepares to re-open

A unique Doncaster railway pub has marked a major milestone as it prepares to re-open after the coronavirus lockdown.

The Draughtsman Alehouse, which is situated on a platform within Doncaster railway station, has marked its fourth birthday – and told customers it will return to business next month.

Announcing the milestone on Facebook, a spokesman said: “Hoppy 4th Birthday to us!

"It's been a turbulent year and we did not think for a second our fourth year would be kicking off with a deep floor clean ready for reopening in May.

The pub, which serves a variety of real ales and craft beers, was created after a former Victorian buffet room which had lain empty for a number of years was converted, retaining many of its original features.
