What is Inspired Day Care?

It is a bright, modern facility in the heart of Doncaster, where the fully trained team of staff including a registered nurse are able to tailor make a package of care to suit every individual’s needs.

Who is it suitable for?

The facility is for adults aged over 18, many have complex health needs, learning disabilities, autism or other care related conditions, meaning that a supported day facility is the best environment for them to thrive. Clients can attend up to five days a week, Monday to Friday. We can also offer more days to clients who attend around college during the holidays

What makes it different?

Everything that could make a client’s life more fun-filled, enjoyable and richer in every way has been thought of. This is a day centre where the client’s quality of life is a top priority.

There’s the therapy kitchen, with a height-accessible worktop to suit the client’s physical needs as they try their hand at cooking and baking; or the art room, with fully accessible equipment including a Freasel – an incredible art easel that makes painting and drawing an option even if you are accessing one of our Acheeva beds. Or how about a visit to the salon, for some perfect pampering – get your nails done or enjoy a massage and foot spa.

Or maybe a session in the hydro pool where clients can relax in the warm calming environment or be supported by staff with their individualised physio programme. Of course, they have all the tracking hoists and other equipment required.

A visit to the IT suite includes a giant 65 inch touch-operated smart board that makes the internet accessible for all. Or if movies and box sets are on the wish list then the cinema room with its 85 inch screen is a must.

The activity room has musical instruments, jigsaws, bubble machines, sensory toys, a parachute for games and a Tonie Box for story-telling.

Two sensory rooms cater for different needs and wants – one is full of action, lights and sounds, the other a more calming experience, but each filled with interactive fun.

The immersive room offers an experience like no other – with projection on to the floor and three walls, there’s the opportunity to play games by physically touching each wall – bursting virtual bubbles for example. Or it can be used to help de-sensitise fears. If there’s an upcoming hospital visit, or a train or plane journey, the immersive room can show what the environments look and sound like, and gradually normalise them for the users.

How do you secure a place?

Families and potential clients are welcome to self-refer and arrange a visit to tour the facilities, but often referrals come via social workers involved in arranging ongoing care. Many places at Inspired Day Care are fully funded.

Can I hire the facilities?

While the day centre itself operates five days a week, the management team, led by Lisa and Michala, are keen to see the community benefitting in every way. You can hire individual rooms or the pool in the evenings and weekends, either as a group, family and friends or even parent and baby swimming sessions.

Inspired Day Care Services also offers a respite and home care provision 24/7 for those who need it, making it the friendly, welcoming and inspiring service to meet your loved one’s care needs.
