Model Charlotte Lister has secured her second beauty queen crown in less than a year - and overcame illness once again to secure her title.

Mum-of-one Charlotte was crowned Miss Dream Street South Yorkshire at an awards ceremony, adding to the Miss British Empire crown she picked up last year.

And the 26-year-old from Bentley could add even more titles to her haul with a host of other competitions to come over the summer.

The model has overcome constant chronic tension headaches as she continues her climb up the modelling ranks.
She said: “It was great to win last year and to win another title this year is amazing. It feels absolutely brilliant.”

Since winning the Miss British Empire title, Charlotte has managed to curtail some of her health problems - but still had to overcome pain to land her victory in Sunday’s final at The Courtyard in Sheffield.

She added: “The headaches are much more under control these days but I still suffer on a day-to-day basis. The pageants are so much fun and taking part in them helps to ease my symptoms and stress because we have such a great time doing them.”

She will now be bidding for the Miss Dream Street UK national crown in August, when she will go head-to-head with more than 40 other glamorous hopefuls from across the UK at the final, which will be held in Warwickshire - including fellow Doncaster model Danielle Hanson who will be representing Derby.

Earlier this year, illness forced her to miss out on taking part in the Miss South Yorkshire contest.

“I was gutted,” she said. “I really wanted a South Yorkshire title to my name so this makes up for it.”

Now she faces a hectic summer of more beauty contests in a bid to add to her increasing trophy cabinet.

In July, she will be bidding for the Miss British Empire Rotherham and Hull titles while also aiming for success in the Face of The Globe competition.

She said: “I am keeping my fingers crossed. It is going to be a very busy few months with plenty going on and I’m looking forward to it.”
