Staff from a Doncaster salon proved they were a cut above after taming the tresses of celebrities and fashion bigwigs at a prestigious event.
Stylists from Saks Doncaster were invited back to the Clothes Show Live at Birmingham’s NEC to work their magic ahead of a show-stopping catwalk event featuring designs from fashionistas, including Dame Zandra Rhodes and Julien Macdonald OBE.
The team spent five days at the show in December brushing shoulders with celebrities such as singer Ella Eyre and reality TV favourite Jamie Laing, of Made in Chelsea fame.
Rebecca Calladine, joint owner of Saks Doncaster, said: “The celebs were fab and so were the professional models this year.
“We loved meeting Joey Essex – he even did us a shout-out to wish all Saks Doncaster clients Merry Christmas.
“We also met Jamie Laing and Ella Eyre. Rick Edwards, the presenter, was lovely – he was really good fun, especially to say he has to go on and say the same things five to seven times a day and is also easy on the eye. Hair and makeup was busy as it always is backstage but it was a honour to be asked to work backstage again this year and Isabelle Brittain loved every second.
“We were very proud to be representing Saks Doncaster.”
But it wasn’t all glamour as the Doncaster team’s hard work came at a price.
Rebecca said: “It was amazing but a lot harder this year as the hair was a lot more complicated and they wanted us to incorporate hair jewellery. We had to use tiny gold rings in the hair, so after a week you can imagine we all had blisters and sore fingers!”
