The latest figures published today are for confirmed deaths at hospitals in the 24 hours up to 5pm yesterday.

They do not include deaths at care homes or elsewhere in the community.

There have been a total of 271 Covid-19 deaths in Sheffield, 162 in Rotherham and 122 in Barnsley.

Some lockdown measures were eased today, with schools allowed to re-open, groups of six now able to meet in open spaces and some people who were ‘shielding’ allowed to leave their homes.
