Doncaster school announces Covid-19 case

CORONAVIRUS: Pubs and restaurants to be put under 10pm curfew in Prime Minister's address to the nation

Sir Thomas Wharton Academy in Edlington sent a letter to parents and carers advising of the case.

Associate Principal Yvonne Bootman said: “We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the school.

“We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

“In accordance with our risk assessment, we have a small number of students who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case. Those students have received an individual letter and will be staying at home a specified time period.

“We have clear tracking systems in place to identify individuals and their close contacts

“The school remains open and your child should continue to attend the Academy if they remain well.”
