Watch the battle of the small SUVs: which is best?
Right now, British car buyers can’t get enough of the small SUV. Sales of traditional family hatchbacks are declining as buyers rush to get something smarter, more stylish and more substantial.
Car manufacturers are responding by bringing out ever-more alternatives in this sector. This time last year, none of these three models existed. But today, we have the Seat Arona small SUV, its related Volkswagen T-Roc family sibling, and now, the all-new Citroen C3 Aircross.
Citroen actually ditched its former small MPV, the C3 Picasso, for the C3 Aircross. Sales of the former had plummeted, because everyone wanted cars like the latter. The French brand has delivered what the market demands.
But can any of these three cars take on the sector’s perennial leader, the Nissan Juke? There was a time when Nissan had this market sewn up: it invented the sector and for years was the dominant sales leader. Indeed, it’s Nissan’s success that inspired the rush to SUVs, and the battle amongst rivals to roll out the rivals.
Is Nissan’s time up at the head of the sector? And if so, which of these three alternatives is the best bet? Let our video reviewers be your guide to the battle of these three new small SUVs.
