Doncaster leisure bosses reveal their road map for re-opening facilities including the Dome, Crookhill Park Golf Course, Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre and leisure centres

Following the Government announcement setting out the road map out of the current lockdown restrictions, Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, which runs Doncaster’s publicly has confirmed that it plans to re-open golf, cycling, football and open water swimming facilities customers from March 29.
The activities will take place across a number of the trust’s venues and the organisation says it will then be working towards the next step that will hopefully see leisure venues open from mid-April.

Hide AdMichael Hart, chief executive of DCLT said: “This is a cautious and phased return to opening following all government guidance.
“We are pleased to be able to reopen Crookhill Park Golf Course, Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre – for open water swimming, the Cycle Track at The Dome – for organised group cycling, and our outdoor football pitches, for organised coaching sessions, at Adwick Leisure Centre and Dearne Valley Leisure Centre from March 29 and hope to see our leisure venues reopen from mid-April.
“Our teams are very much looking forward to the return to sports and exercise and all the additional safety measures previously introduced will remain in place.
“We are working towards these dates and will keep members and customers up to date with further detail over the coming weeks.

Hide Ad“This latest lockdown period has been difficult for many people and we are pleased that our Healthy at Home online content has helped to keep people exercising, moving, and involved.
“We are all really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our DCLT venues and activities and it will be great to see the first phase of golf, cycling, football and open water swimming return later this month.”
The trust had already said it hoped to open Armthorpe Leisure Centre in May, with £1.1m refurbishment of the site set to be completed by then.
The work is to replace the ceilings, improve the air handling in the building and maintain the pool plant area.

Hide AdThey have also refurbished and increased the size of the gym at Armthorpe and kitted it out with new resistance and cardio equipment, with a new fitness studio and improvements to the changing room shower facilities.
