The Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival is on the hunt to recruit some urgently needed volunteers to help work behind the bars at this year’s event.
Taking place at Magna between March 2 and 5 the festival will feature more than 250 real ales, wines, ciders and foreign lagers and every night the event needs at least 60 volunteers to work the pumps.
Jill Hopewell, Volunteer Co-ordinator for the festival, said: “Working at the festival is an unforgettable experience.
“It gives you a chance to meet new people and support some very good local charities and whether you’re a premium pint puller or have never worked behind a bar before it can be great fun.
“If we don’t get enough volunteers to man the pumps, then there is a real risk that some of the bars will not be open, simply because there is no-one available to run them.
“ We’re encouraging anyone who has been to the festival before to show their support by giving us a hand on the other side of the bar.”
Volunteers can sign up by visiting the beer festival website: http://www.magnarealale.co.uk and completing a short online form.
