This Easter, audiences at Doncaster’s Cast Theatre will set off on a magical adventure over the rainbow to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Leading the cast will be This Morning, Daybreak, Citv and Nickelodeon’s Anna Williamson. Recently seen on Tom Daley’s Saturday night diving show Splash! on ITV, Anna is starring as Dorothy.

She said: “Easter can’t come quick enough for me this year as I’m thrilled to be playing Dorothy in Wizard of Oz in Doncaster.

“I’ve always wanted to play this part so I’m very excited about bringing the magic and wonder of our show to you all over the holiday period. Make sure you come and say hi and enjoy the show!”

Joining Anna are CBeebies and CBBC’s Jez Edwards as the Scarecrow and Hollyoaks’ Laura Handley as the Wicked Witch of the West, who is determined to foil their quest by any means necessary.

Dorothy and her cute little dog Toto journey down the Yellow Brick Road to see the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, meeting lots of new friends along the way – the bumbling Scarecrow who is desperate for a brain, the Cowardly Lion who is in dire need of some courage and the Tin Man who wants more than anything to be a real man.

James Shone from Shone Productions said: “I am so excited to be bringing The Wizard Of Oz to the dazzling Cast Theatre in Doncaster,

“It’s a brilliant production featuring live band, dancers and great sets and costumes.

“We have such a strong cast to deliver this up-to-date pantomime version of the classic story and with plenty of current popular songs. There is something for the whole family and I know that everyone will have an enjoyable time.”

He added: “You can’t miss this spectacular panto show which promises dazzling dance routines, brilliant songs and plenty of laughs and is the perfect treat for the whole family.”
