What's on.

Different generations have come together for a special concert to commemorate the start of World War One.

Mexborough Male Voice Choice, pupils at Swinton Community School and Royal British Legion members have joined forces for two nights of remembrance.

Choir member Alan Pepper, 75, of Swinton, said: “The pupils have been working on a World War One project and there will be displays up on the night.

“We will be singing wartime songs on the two nights too such as ‘Over There’ and ‘Long Way to Tipperary’.

“It is important to remember those who gave their lives in the war and to remember what they did for us all of those years ago.

The performances will take place at Swinton Community School on May 7 and 8 from 7.30pm onwards.

Tickets are £8 if pre-booked or £10 on the door.
