Top combos sure to rock crowds

HEAVY rock fans of the old school vintage can break out the Denims and let the dandruff fly when three top combos hit the stage at Elsecar’s new Building 21 venue, tomorrow (Friday, June 10).

Mexborough rockers Oliver-Dawson Saxon join forces with John Coghlan’s Quo and Barnsley metal merchants, Seventh Son, at the Heritage Centre at 7pm.

Original Saxon Guitarist Graham Oliver’s version of the band are releasing their new album Motorbiker later this summer and the gig will showcase tracks from it.

Graham told the Times: “We are looking forward to playing the new songs, as well as lots of the old Saxon favourites, and I hope to see some of the old faces as well as new fans coming to see us.”

Former Status Quo drummer John Coghlan is second on the bill with a set of Status Quo’s 1970s classics.

Seventh Son need no introduction to South Yorkshire rock fans.

Graham added: “I have known Seventh Son for years and they always put on a great show. Bri O’ Shaunessy is a great vocalist and really knows how to work a crowd.”
