Back at the top of the album charts at the age of 68 - it was more than enough reason for evergreen superstar Rod Stewart to get his kicks in front of a packed Sheffield Motorpoint Arena.

The rocker is clearly thrilled with the success of Time - his first long-playing UK chart topper for over 30 years.

Key songs from the self-penned record were sprinkled into a set which was thickly studded with Stewart favourites, with teenage memoir Brighton Beach set to be a crowd pleaser for years to come.

The song was part of a well received acoustic section of the show, which also featured Have I Told You Lately and First Cut Is The Deepest.

Back in the set for the first time in a decade on this tour is The Killing of Georgie, banned by the BBC according to Rod - although he may just be having a senior moment on that one.

Maggie May, Hot Legs, Baby Jane and Sailing were among the hits providing the show’s big finish - with Rod also proving that he is still capable of hoofing a mean football.
