Más Y Más, The Rock

The trio will be bringing their latin rhythms to the venue in Maltby tomorrow, Friday (May 3) as part of the venue’s Fridays Live for a Fiver concert series.

Más Y Más from Nottingham are an acoustic power trio performing original and traditional Latin songs. They play the music of Rikki Thomas-Martínez – described as “songs of love, celebration and fiesta and of people finding common humanity beyond race, caste or creed”.

Now in their 11th year together, Más Y Más have played to enthusiastic audiences all over the world.

Support act is Barnsley guitarist and singer Alan Wood. Doors open 7.30pm.

There will be more latino beats in Leopold Square, Sheffield this weekend.

Sheffielder Ryan Taylor and his band appear on Saturday from 2pm-4.30pm, playing an eclectic blend of jazz, blues, soul and Latin music.

Then on Sunday there is a Salsa in the Square event, organised by Platillos restaurant.

Manchester band La Tinto Brothers are playing at 4pm and 6pm. They will join DJs and dancers performing until 10pm outdoors, moving inside until 2.30am.

Salsa dance lessons are on offer courtesy of Platillos’ resident teacher, Winston Mitchell, and the restaurant will be serving hot food on the terrace.
