Roll up, roll up for a weekend of music, real and food.

The finishing touches are being made to the area’s newest festival which it is hoped will attract hundreds of visitors.

The Under the Big Top event takes place on July 12 and 13 and big name acts Richard Hawley and The Levellers have been confirmed on the bill.

It will take place in Graves Park, Sheffield, and feature a selection of food from local suppliers and ales from Bradfield Brewery.

The Levellers will play on the Friday before a special homecoming gig by former Longpigs and Pulp member Richard Hawley the following day.

The Steel City performer has appeared on numerous music programmes including the popular Jools Holland show, and both he and his music have been championed by many in the industry.

A spokesman for Under the Big Top said: “Under The Big Top combines fantastic music, local real ales and local food.

“Kicking off with legendary live performers, Levellers on Friday the event will also feature a very special, one-off performance by Sheffield’s own Richard Hawley on Saturday.”

Both evenings start at 6.30pm.

Tickets for the festival are currently on sale.

Prices for the Richard Hawley concert are £26.50 plus booking fees.
