A staff member who has worked at an Edenthorpe pub for the past 19 years is testament to its appeal.
Beverley Hunt started as a waitress at The Beverley Inn, Thorne Road, before rustling up meals as a chef and finally settling in her role as the the face of the friendly hostelry at front of house, acting as a team leader.
But a familiar face that has been a long-serving employee is not the only thing to recommend the pub/restaurant as new manager Gary Irvine explained.
Gary, who has been at the pub for only four months, said: “There are many things to recommend this pub. We have launched our Christmas menu, we have tasty treats throughout the week with our two meals for £12 deal, noon to 6pm, we have real ales on all the time, a quiz night every Monday, DJ every Friday and live entertainment every Saturday.”
There is also Sky television streaming live matches ensuring customers never miss a live game.
He added: “We hold regular fundraisers throughout the year. An up and coming fundraiser, at a date to be decided, will be to raise vital funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. There will be 50 percent of funds going to the charity and 50 percent to cover our costs. We will not make a penny out of the event.”
The pub serves some mouthwatering beers with Doombar always on tap. Other current real ales are Caledonian Autumn, described as having light hoppiness and fresh spice with sweet caramel from the rye crystal malt and soft mellow fruitfulness in the finish, along with Wadworth Swordfish, described as a mild caramel malt aroma, caramel flavour and a prolonged aftertaste .
Gary added: “We have a regular turnover of real ales and always something different to attract customers and keep them coming back. We also have rooms for those who wish to stay overnight.” For more call 01302 882724.
