IT’S time to start spreading the word about Party In The Park!

The Free Press is backing the music extravaganza - which is jointly organised by Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston and Ashgate Hospice, Chesterfield.

Thousands of people are expected to get involved in an outdoor celebration of the big band era at the Bakewell Showground in September.

Paul Pashley and his 17-piece big band will be performing timeless Rat Pack classics. His set-list includes new songs written especially for him by Take That’s Gary Barlow, rock legend Bryan Adams and his Grammy award-winning producer Eliot Kennedy.

Party-goers are being urged to get dressed up in retro war-time outfits for the day and enjoy a range of vintage and memorabilia stalls.

POPULAR medium Steve Holbrook is calling at Doncaster’s Danum Hotel next week.

Tickets are now on sale to see clairaudient Steve, who claims that he can hear spirits rather than see them.

He describes himself as a telephone exchange between this world and the next, and says he can pass messages onto relatives in the audience from their loved ones on the ‘other side’.

Steve has worked successfully for over 30 years in the UK, and has worked on many Caribbean cruises, and a Mediterranean cruise.

His readings have taken audiences on a rollercoaster of emotions, from laughter to tears and back again! On the night, he will also be collecting PACT - who support children with terminal cancer - and has already raised more than £16,000 for them.
