Antiques lovers are being urged to dig out their treasures and take them along to Wentworth Woodhouse later this month when the Antiques Roadshow rolls into town.

The BBC team will be at the Rotherham venue on Thursday, September 19, hunting for unusual items.

Those with large items they would like to have valued can send details and photographs of the objects to Antiques Roadshow, Whiteladies Road, Bristol BS8 2LR or email them to antiques.roadshow@bbc.co.uk

The show’s staff may be able to arrange to look at the item in advance, and organise transportation to the venue.

Among the team of experts at Wentworth Woodhouse on the day will be Henry Sandon, Eric Knowles and Hilary Kay.

Presenter Fiona Bruce will also be at the event.

Along with the other members of the team they will be on hand to offer free valuations and advice to visitors.

The doors are open from 9.30am until 4.30pm, and entry to the event is free.

The last time the Antiques Roadshow was in the area was in 2004 when it visited Magna Science Centre, near Rotherham.
