Sisters of One Direction star Louis Tomlinson step up for charity

The sisters of One Direction superstar, Louis Tomlinson, are set to follow in the footsteps of their famous brother by fundraising for Bluebell Wood.

Louis’ four sisters Lottie aged 15, Felicity 13, Daisy 10, and Phoebe Tomlinson, 10, have signed up to take part in the children’s hopsice Colour Dash, a 5K run with vibrant fun at Rother Valley Country Park, Sheffield on Saturday, May 3 2014.

The colour dash concept has been a huge success in the United States and Bluebell Wood is the first charity in the Yorkshire region to host this type of event.

Lottie Tomlinson said of the run: “I’m really excited to be able to get involved with the Colour Dash and support Bluebell Wood.

“I first heard about the hospice when Louis became a patron of the charity, it’s a fantastic organisation and I’d encourage everyone taking part to raise as much sponsorship as they can to help the children and families who use Bluebell Wood.”

The Tomlinson sisters are getting behind the run by modelling fun accessories including visors, tutus, wristbands and sunglasses that can be bought in the Doncaster branch of New Look and online at Bluebell Wood’s website.

All 2,000 places for the run, which was launched in early February have now been taken, but supporters of the charity are still encouraege to get involved through sponsoring a runner, buying some of the charity merchandise or by volunteering on the day.

Helen Mower, head of fundraising at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “The response we have had to sign ups has been incredible and we have unfortunately had to close entries.”

She added: “But if anyone would still like to get involved with the Colour Dash we are still recruiting volunteers to help with all different activities throughout the day”.

People wanting to buy Colour Dash merchandise can do so by visiting http://www.bluebellwood.org/colour-dash-merchandise/
