BOY band sensation Louis Tomlinson has made music history in America with his One Direction mates.

The Bessacarr lad has reached the number one spot in the United States for the second time with the band’s new album - the first time a British band have debuted at the top of the US charts with their first two albums.

Latest album Take Me Home, which is currently number one in Britain and 30 other countries around the globe, sold 540,000 in its first week to claim top spot, matching the group’s debut Up All Night which also hit number one in America - a feat not even The Beatles achieved.

It caps a remarkable week for the Doncaster boy band star after the group chalked up their second UK number one single on Sunday with Little Things alongside their UK album chart success.

The band also stole the show at the Royal Variety Performance earlier this week with a comic appearance alongside Little Britain star David Walliams and opened the BBC’s annual Children In Need fundraising spectacular with a blistering live performance last Friday night.

The band, now estimated to be worth £26 million, will embark on a worldwide tour next year including dates on South Yorkshire soil for Louis at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena.
