Excited pupils of the Everett-Fox School of Dance held a special show combined with a dress rehearsal in their community before heading off to perform on the London stage.

Twenty-one local dancers aged between six and 14 from the Misterton school were thrilled to appear on stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

A dance school spokeswoman said: “Local youngsters have never had this sort of opportunity before and wanted family and friends to help celebrate this achievement.”

The youngsters performed before a packed house, and the event raised £185 towards the cost of glitzy costumes for the show in the capital, and for the pupils’ next local production on May 16, 17, and 18, with a final matinee performance.

Six-year-old Anna Cockerham is pictured above, dancing in the pupils’ rendition of Dambusters. Their second dance, that also proved a popular choice, was Moves Like Jagger.

The 2014 celebratory show will coincide with EFSD being open for exactly seven years!

Tickets are on sale now from Trinity Arts Centre Box Office on 01427 676655.
