For football-mad Jan Milner, being unable to play football because of a severe long-term injury led to her barely opening the door for five years as she slipped into the demonic depths of depression.

But from that infectious and unrivalled passion for sport, particularly football, came an incredible drive for coaching.

She’s helping other people deal with the issues she once faced by coaching a football team from Doncaster’s Personalisation Forum Group - a service which helps users tackle mental health.

The PFG Doncaster FC team, which has been resurrected following the demise of a React squad due to funding, now has support from the Doncaster Rovers Foundation, former Rovers goalkeeper Jan Budtz and a host of authorities such as Doncaster MIND and Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust.
