Strong squad as Knights head to London Welsh

THE Knights will be close to full strength as they look for their first win in the promotion play-offs at London Welsh.

After the defeat at Nottingham, director of rugby Brett Davey hinted he may freshen up his side for the trip to the capital.

But Davey has made just one change with Tom Davies returning at loose-head prop in place of Stuart Corsar.

There were fears for Davies’ season after he injured his ribs against Bristol but he has returned to boost the forward ranks.

Toby Berridge will be looking to build on his impressive debut against Nottingham after retaining his place at full back.

The depleted backs department – where David McIlwaine, Tom Luke and PJ Gidlow are all long term absentees – suffered another blow this week when fly-half Mike Whitehead announced his retirement.

The Knights head to Old Deer Park knowing defeat to the Exiles will likely put an end to their hopes of reaching the semi-finals.

So far the Knights have managed to score just six points from their first two games and already five points adrift at the foot of Pool A.

Opponents London Welsh have enjoyed a strong start to the play-offs having beaten Nottingham and drawn at favourites Bristol last weekend.
