DONCASTER Knights supporters will get the opportunity to quiz the club’s leading figures at a fans’ forum event next month.

Director of rugby Brett Davey and chief executive David Ryall will be part of the Knights panel who will field questions at a press conference-style Q&A.

Head coach Glen Kenworthy will also address supporters from the top table.

Supporters are invited to Castle Park from 6pm onwards on Thursday, August 9, to watch the full squad take part in an open training session.

The fans’ forum will follow at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse Suite of the De Mulder Lloyd Stand.

Knights get their season underway on Saturday, August 11, when they travel to Championship rivals Newcastle Falcons for the first of three pre-season friendlies.

Davey’s men also host Cambridge (Aug 18) and travel to Premiership outfit Gloucester (Aug 25) before opening the new Championship season at Plymouth Albion on September 1.

n New signing Dante Mama has returned to Doncaster after helping Great Britain Sevens win the World Student Games.

Former Loughborough university student Mama was in the GB side that beat South Africa 35-17 in the final after earlier wins against Romania in the quarter finals and France in the semis.

The British team was coached by former Doncaster Knights star Russell Earnshaw.

Mama said: “The World Championships were a good test.

“The standard was really high which made it even more enjoyable and I have gained so much from the tour, not only by winning the tournament, but in the experience.

“The management and coaching staff were excellent and there was a good bunch of lads involved.

“I really believe that Sevens is adding an extra dimension to my game and it is great for my development.

“I am sure what I have learnt and will hopefully continue to learn will benefit me for the season to come with Doncaster Knights.”

Utility back Mama signed for Knights from Leicester Tigers in May.
