Doncaster Phoenix regained top spot in Yorkshire One after a 32-16 home victory over previous leaders Wath on Dearne.
It was by no means plain sailing for Phoenix, who opened with an early penalty from Dan Storey but then found themselves trailing 8-3 as Wath fought back with a penalty from full back Tom Quinn and a try by winger Steve Mason.
Storey then pulled back a second penalty, and Phoenix regained the lead when full back Craig Deakin raced in between the posts and Storey landed the conversion.
Flanker Ryan Peacey went under the posts to give Storey a simple task with the kick, as the hosts extended their lead.
Wath reduced the deficit to 20-16 as Ian Barker crossed for a try and Quinn added his second penalty five minutes into the second half.
But from another good move, started by Craig Deakin, winger John Stuart sprinted over in the corner after 53 minutes and Phoenix sealed their win when Peacey scored the fourth try in the final minute, Storey converting. Picture: FSP Images.
