Toll Bar celebrate winning the President's Cup.

The Pennine Amateur Rugby League’s Premier Division will hold no fears for promoted Doncaster Toll Bar next season.

So claimed coach Ian Tattersall after seeing his side beat West Bowling 25-18 to claim the President’s Cup at Batley on Monday.

“To complete the double is a fantastic achievement and if we continue to work hard there is no reason why the success can’t continue,” he told The Star.

Reflecting on the final, Tattersall said: “It was a tough game which was what we expected.

“I thought we played pretty well, especially in defence.

“The only disappointing thing is that we blew a couple of clear-cut chances in the first half and probably should have gone in further ahead than 18-0.

“We weren’t surprised by their second half fight-back as they are the new Premier Division champions and showed why at times.

“But we are a top team ourselves, having won the Championship One title, and we showed a real determination and desire to get the job done.”

He added: “It was an unbelievable day for the club and I’d like to thank all the supporters who came along and rocked the ground.

“The players and myself were very grateful to see so many people there.”

The club hold their annual presentation evening on Saturday.
