Picture special: Ton-up Kelly's hero for Conisbrough....
PONTEFRACT AND DISTRICT CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION ONE A BRILLIANT unbeaten Tim Kelly ton could not prevent Conisbrough from slumping to their latest defeat, and falling deeper into relegation danger at the hands of Fishlake.
Conisbrough struggled from the off, and were reeling at 12-3 until Kelly came to the fore to produce 100 and add 82 for the fourth wicket in a profitable partnership with Scott Lowe who made 38. Ben Scott also performed well with 28 as Conisbrough managed 192-7 by the close.
Ian Walker took three wickets for Fishlake while Gary Strephan claimed another two.
Strephan then took up the mantle with the bat to knock an unbeaten 81 and guide his side to victory.
Charlie Metcalfe added 40 and Mark Davis 23 to steer Fishlake home at 195-4. Any damage done was largely down to Paul Jackson who claimed 3-48 from 14 overs.
Four wickets and 87 runs from a champagne Daniel Owen performance provided the catalyst for Hooton Pagnell to see off near neighbours Frickley Colliery, by six wickets.
Opener Richard Belk proved a resolute prospect for Hooton to deal with as he stood firm while half of his team-mates were dismissed with the score ambling up to 72.
Belk made 28 and with 21 from George McIntyre and Shane Payne's 43, Frickley managed to reach 143. Owen's 4-52 was superbly supported by Steve Hardaker's impressive 3-13 while Sam Illsley took 2-44.
Owen then opened the response with his excellent 87 which featured a fourth wicket partnership of 69 with the reliable Alwyn Dyke, who was then joined by Luke Lodge to see Hooton over the line and finish unbeaten on 21 and 16 respectively as part of the 147-4 innings.
Lee Capstick, Payne, Barry Wathey and Paul Kirkham claimed the wickets for Frickley.
Rock-bottom Wombwell Main managed to salvage three points from a 110 run defeat at defending champions Streethouse.
Healthy knocks of 82, 62 and 50 from Roy Vigars, J Hughes and K Langley respectively helped Streethouse total 267-6 that would always be out of reach of Wombwell.
Chris Bond top scored with 49 as Wombwell made 157 while Martin Rhodes claimed 4-34 for Streethouse.

DIVISION TWO
UPPER Haugh stayed on track with their top flight promotion bid, thanks to an excellent all round showing from Rob Oxberry as they earned maximum points from a three wicket win at Fairburn.
Oxberry claimed 4-16 while Michael Clarke also took four wickets for the loss of 31 to make life difficult for Fairburn who were all done for 157.
To follow up his polished bowling performance, Oxberry produced an unbeaten 70 in Haugh's winning response of 159-7 which kept them top-of-the-table.
Promotion rivals South Kirkby fell off the pace with a five-wicket defeat at home to Stainborough. Nicky Percival got Kirkby going with a decent 32, but a fifth wicket partnership of 79 from Dale Woolsey and Jack Birkby – who made 73no and 32 respectively – helped lift them to 180-5.
An opening stand of 57 by P Hanson and B McLee who made 26 and 62 respectively set Stainborough on course for victory, while P Archer and L McFayden saw the innings to a close with unbeaten 45 and 22, and guide them to 184-5 in the 40th over. Steve Scott and Dean Woolsey both took two wickets for Kirkby.

DIVISION THREE
CONISBROUGH had a major boost in their survival bid with a 10-point haul from their 29-run win over West Bretton at Park Lane.
Lively knocks of 50, 43 and 40 from Mark Neale, N Lovell and Bob Fuller respectively sent Conisbrough up to 198 against strong bowling from R Smith who claimed 6-36. While J Winwood and S Knowles narrowed the gap for Bretton, they were all out for 169 thanks largely to Lee Roberts' 5-48 effort.
In contrast, fellow strugglers, Frickley Colliery's hopes of avoiding the drop are fading after a 99-run defeat to Normanton St Johns left them adrift with neighbours Ryhill and Havercroft.
Michael Tudor and Suf Patel provided the basis for the Saints knock with 31 and 32 respectively but number seven batsman Steve Goodwin put them truly in the driving seat with a rapid 92 while Ian Ewan posted 28 to see them to 260-9.
Frickley threw in nine bowlers in a bid to stop Normanton with Richard Caton the most successful with 4-52.
Opener Keith Whitehouse hit 93 to put Frickley in a decent position but he found no support for his 14-boundary haul as only Matt Charlton, Richard Caton and James Handley made more than 15 but none reached 20 as the side were all done for 161.
A Wright snared 3-15 and C Bryant 3-48 to ensure victory for Normanton.
Bottom side Ryhill's woes continued as they went down to a 41 run defeat against visiting Yorkshire Main. Andy Buck top scored for the visitors with 46 as they made 162-7 with Pete Lomas claiming 4-54 for Ryhill. An unbeaten 56 by Paul Batley saw Ryhill find their way up to 121-8 which earned them three points.
Thurnscoe Institute also remain in within the group of four sides that harbour the bottom four after a nine wicket defeat to Nostell St Oswalds.
Craig Simmons and Luke Harper were just shy of their 50s to provide the meat of the Thurnscoe knock of 170. But their efforts were in vain as R Hardmand and W Noble guided Nostell to 171-1 with 89 and 48no respectively.

A SUPERB all round big hitting performance for Upper Haugh kept the pressure on the division leaders as they demolished Streethouse in a 134 run victory.
Terrific stroke play from top scoring Thomas Allen – unbeaten on 74 – was ably supported by Tom Wylde and Martyn Stacey's respective 64s and 57 from Jamie Hammerton as Haugh rocketed to 308-4.
It was well beyond Streethouse who were dismissed for 174 though Roy Moorby proved a tasking prospect and finished unbeaten on 73.
South Kirkby picked up what could prove to be a vital five points in a 49-run defeat to Stainborough. W Ward was the main contributor with 61 as Stainborough made 194 with Dave Rollin holding them back with 4-26 figures.
Steve Sheppard attempted to fashion a Kirkby response with 51, he had no support as J McLee sliced through the order to finish on 7-40 and put them back in the pavilion for 145.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare's title aspirations suffered a hit as they lost by 12 runs at Sykehouse despite a superb all round performance by Chris Beaumont.
The home side were dismissed for 166 with Beaumont crafting their downfall by taking 4-29 though Phil Sanders' 57 and Pete Sanders' 33 gave the innings some backbone.
Beaumont then produced 51 with the bat only for his side to be dismissed for 154 with Phil Townsend taking 4-21 and Pete Sanders claiming 3-29.

DIVISION SIX
AN OUTSTANDING all round performance from Martin Pickering almost single-handedly produced the shock of the day as bottom side Wombwell Main beat promotion-chasing Barnsley by two wickets.
Pickering captured 5-38 to help put Barnsley back in the pavilion for 133 before smashing 53 to steer Wombwell towards victory at 134-8. The win allowed Wombwell to claw some ground back in the relegation fight and give them a much healthier chance of survival.

HEMSWORTH Miners Welfare maintained their push for a promotion spot with an eight wicket win over runaway league leaders Hatfield Town, the first defeat of the season for the Carrside Lane side.
Only John Creaser enjoyed any time in the centre as he made 30 of a surprisingly paltry total of 86 for a side looking all set to lift the bottom tier title. Robbie Crapper ensured a poor time for Hatfield with 3-29 while Tony Biddulph claimed 3-47. Lee Sykes provided the spark for Hemsworth's winning response of 88-2 with a decent 32.
