LEN Squire won 21-0 for Bawtry but still finished on the losing side (170-146) in Doncaster Bowls Associaton Saturday League Section A at Pikington Recreation, for whom Kevin Richardson (21-3) and Norman Clowes (21-9) starred.

Pilkingtons Rec B faded after a good start from Paul Rumney (21-9), and Don Borthwick (21-6) and Dick Lindley (21-8) ensured a v184-146 Section D victory for Hexthorpe B.

Westfield Park posted a 158-125 Midweek League Division Two win over Denaby B.

Brian Barrett (21-9) and Andy Kershaw (21-6) stood out in Armthorpe B’s 165-101 Division Three win over Carcroft B.

Adwick had good wins from Steve Crookes (21-9) and Jean Hopson (21-6) in a 148-124 victory at Parklands B.

Bill Fletcher’s 21-5 win made all the difference inv Adwick B’s 145-138 Division Four victory over Unison B.

Brodsworth’s Enoch Walker (21-7) was the match-winner in the 143-129 success over Hexthorpe B.

Thorne got off to a good start with wins from Gil Grinney (21-2) and Rose Greaves (21-7) in their 146-118 victory over Pilks Rec D.

Barry Bentley (21-9), Keith Huckerby (21-6) and Bernard Birchall (21-4) all posted good wins in Armthorpe’s 150-102 Over-60s League Division One win over Tickhill, for whom with Richard Curtis won 21-8.

John Baldwin’s 21-7 effort for Adwick was not enough as Jim Hart (21-8) won the Division Two derby (144-134) for Brodsworth.

Adwick B suffered a 160-133 Division Three defeat at home to Parklands B.

John Clewer and Peter Douglas (21-7) and Dave Henson and Brian Cook (21-6) were the best of Armthorpe’s four winners in their 84-37 Over-60s Doubles League Division One win over Adwick.

Jim Parker and Brian Stubbs finished off Adwick’s 73-59 victory over Thorpe Marsh Bentley with a 21-7 win.

Adwick and Pilks Rec battled out a 74-74 draw.

Ken Waddington and Dave Concannon (21-9) did enough to earn Roundwood a 67-67 draw at home to Westfield Park.

Last pair Norman and Alan Brown won 21-8 to give Adwick B a 79-63 Division Two derby win over Brodsworth.

Derek and Joan Gabbitus (21-2) and Malcolm and Sue Tetley (21-6) showed up well for Parklands B in their 72-50 win over Tickhill.

Carcroft led by 25 at the halfway stage thanks to Stan and Joan Job (21-7), but Ken and Ron Strutt (21-8) and Ray Wyatt and Brian Acornley (21-7) gave Bentley Colliery a narrow 59-57 victory.

Derek and Joan Gabbitus (21-7) earned Parklands B a 67-67 draw at Bentley Colliery. Hexthorpe carded a 71-63 win at Eden Grove-Pegler.
