A trio of the region’s golfers have been hampered by atrocious weather at the 144th Open Championship.

Lee Westwood, Greg Owen and Danny Willett, who all went under par yesterday in round one, have had their start times delayed after the course was hit by a massive downpour.

Worksop’s Westwood will now tee off alongside Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed at 5.26pm - just before more rain is forecast to fall.

Owen is out at 2.47pm and should enjoy the best of today’s weather, while Willett, tied for second on six under, is due to tee off at 11.25am.
