Two medals relayed back to Wombwell

TWO teams from Wombwell Sporting AC returned with medals from the South Yorkshire Track Relay Championship recently.

The girls eight to 11-years-old 4x60m shuttle relay team earned bronze with a time of 48.7s.

Kristie Archer, Megan Gallagher, Lily Kerr and Olivia Parkes made up the team.

The senior men’s team also took bronze, finishing third in the 4x400m in a time of 4.01.6 with Adam Murray, Luke Knowles, Carl Hulett and Tom Mallon running well.

The Under 13s girls team finished fourth in the 4x100m in 62.2s and registered the same time in the final where they came fifth.

Rachel Robinson, Holly Taylor, Rebecca Thorp and Emily Copley led the Wombwell team to sixth in their heat in the girls 13-15 4x100m.

The boys 13-15 4x100m team of Harry Moore, Thomas Murray, Richard Wright and Andreas Parperi finished fourth in their heat in 60.8s.

The senior men’s team of Jordan Ibbotson, Carl Hulett, Tom Mallon and Adam Murray were fourth in the final of the 4x100m in 50.5s.

Matching that feat was the veteran women who came home in a time of 70.7s in the final.

Diane Chandler, Joanne Senior, Annette Brooke and Amanda Hunt formed the team.

The 13-15 3x800m girls team of Hayley Sayner, Katie Belshaw and Alice Moore ran well to finish seventh with a time of 9.02.9.

This effort was particularly strong given two of the team were under 13.
