Darfield 72-1 Elsecar 2nd XI 71

DARFIELD moved 20 points clear at the top of the table after Sam Blake’s devastating bowling turn at Elsecar Seconds helped them to another comprehensive triumph.

Blake scythed through the order to claim 7-30 in his spell which saw Elsecar toppled for just 71.

Chris Pedler was the only batsmen in the mood to defy Blake and reached 26 before falling victim to the brilliant bowler.

Darfield dropped just one wicket in the chase as Liam Marshall continued the development Darfield selected him for by producing an unbeaten 40.

They passed the target in less than 16 overs to move 20 points clear of second placed Coal Aston, over whom they hold a game in hand.

Rotherham Town 2nd XI 68-0

Wath 2nd XI 65

WATH Seconds are six points off safety after they were demolished by Rotherham Town.

The order simply could not cope against a varied Rotherham attack where six different bowlers claimed wickets.

David Mace was the leading wicket taker with 4-21.

Rotherham’s openers James Wadsworth and Jonathan Allan carried their side to the win with 35no and 25no respectively inside 20 overs.
