Star Grass Roots used her new-found form to produce another strong performance at Owlerton Stadium where she was beaten by just a length.

Back in the higher grade of A6 after her victory last week, our greyhound ran well in a strong field recording a time of 30.71 seconds and crossing the finish line in fifth place.

Trainer Elaine Parker said: “Star Grass Roots has been long overdue a win and last week’s victory seems to have given her a real lift. With age, she is getting stronger and more experienced and this showed in her latest race.

“She’s an incredibly keen and genuine greyhound. She ran really well this week and was beaten by just a length. She’ll stay in A6 and hopefully with another victory will progress to A5. All bodes well for the future.”

Meanwhile Grass Roots readers can be leader of the pack with a great greyhound offer launched by Owlerton. The new Greyhound Pack includes admission to Owlerton, a race card, one drink, two bets and a £2 voucher to spend anywhere in the stadium from £5 per person. The offer is available until November 23.

Stadium general manager Dave Perry said: “With less than 100 days to go to Christmas and people saving money this great value offer has been designed to make sure that race night fans can still have an entertaining an enjoyable night out with their family or friends without breaking the bank.”
