DENABY had only one winning pair, but the 21-2 score from Chris Jones and Martin Scott was enough to secure them a 70-65 Doncaster Bowls Association Doubles League Division One win over Armthorpe.

Ryan Lysons and Phil Stones won 21-7 to inflict a first home defeat (75-65) of the season on Pilkingtons and boost Carcroft’s own title challenge. Thorpe Marsh Bentley beat Unison 84-68.

Armthorpe won 79-70 at Yorkshire Main.

Dave Rogers and Neil Langley won 21-8 for Westfield Park in their 80-63 Division Two win over Wickersley.

Hexthorpe got a good start from Norman Averill and Debbie Case (21-8) in their 83-60 win over Adwick.

Frank Potts and Brian Line (21-8) were the best pairing for Westfield Park in their 82-63 win over Parklands.

Mick Harper and Barry Taylor (21-9) gave league leaders Pilkingtons Rec B a narrow 67-65 win at Wickersley.

Stan and Joan Job (21-6) and Thomas Colclough and Graham Poole (21-8) shone for Carcroft B in their 84-43 Division Three win over Parklands.

Thomas Colclough, and new starter Lewis Trainer, won 21-7 for Carcroft C in their 81-68 Division Four victory at Unison B.
