Stefy Bull lines up a team to fancy in the Euros

STEFY Bull certainly has more confidence that his assembled English squad will do better against European opposition than the English football team.

There are set to be seven contests between Bull’s fighters and European imports to give a theme next to the Friday June 8 event at the Doncaster Dome before Swinton welterweight Tommy Coward takes on his former England amateur teammate John Wayne Hibbert from Essex in a title match to finish off the bill.

It’s an innovative idea from the former fighter, who is still new to promoting - this is only his third show. He is hopeful, though, that the Doncaster public will have taken to the idea.

Bull told The Star: “It’s a big risk because it’s costing a lot to fly them over but there are some really some good fights on the bill.

“We wouldn’t be able to get Connor Nixon or Stuart Brookes fights against unbeaten British kids so we’re expecting them to be exciting.

“We don’t know how things are going to go until the night and I’ve got nerves about it but I’m sure it’ll be thrilling to watch. Then we’ve got Tommy topping the bill in a 50/50 fight so it’s great value for money.”

Bull, like the rest of the nation, doesn’t see England’s football counterparts as likely winners of the European Championships: “They’ve not done anything in major championships for a very long time but I’m confident of seven straight wins for my lads because I’m sure they’ve got more talent,” added Bull.

“If England could do the same then I’m sure that we’d have a great summer!”

VIP tickets (including meal and waitress service) are still available at £55. Stalls and balcony are £35. VIP ticket holders will also be allowed into the aftershow party at Bar Toast in the town centre. For tickets call 01302 370777.
