SLIDESHOW: Hundreds take part in the Owston Ferry 10k race

The annual Owston Ferry 10k took place last weekend, with hundreds of participants entering the race.

The flat run around the Isle of Axholme was attended by runners of all abilities.

Finishing first was 26-year old Daniel Grant, an unattached runner from Leeds, who finished the course in a time of 32 minutes and 27 seconds.

He was followed in second place by Doncaster AC’s Carl Ryde (33m32secs), with Ady Whitwam of Army Athletics Association finishing third (33m35secs)

The first woman to complete the course was Scunthorpe’s Jane Kemshall with a time of 38mins 25secs.

The day of the race was also poignant as it was held on Fathers’ Day with a number of father-and-child partnerships completing the course together.

In total 293 runners entered the race.
