Wath B took the honours in their local derby against Rotherham Town at Clifton Lane, thanks to Nick Purcell’s half-century.

Shawn Dyson took five wickets for Wath as Town were bowled out for 100, David Mace’s 37 not out the only high point for the home side. Shaun Hopkins added 3-7.

In reply, Wath were soon struggling at 30-3, before youngster Jack Whitlam joined Purcell at the crease.

The duo combined to add the 71 runs needed for victory.

Purcell finished the game unbeaten on 54, with nine fours, and Whitlam added a valuable 24 not out in the seven-wicket victory.

Tickhill moved to within two points of second-placed Darfield, after a hard-fought victory over Rockingham at Alderson Drive.

After dismissing Rockingham for just 115 - Mitchell Phelps taking 7-24 - a batting collapse saw the last pair needing four runs for victory.

Tickhill were indebted to skipper Ashley Fiddler, whose sensible 41 not out saw them through to the narrowest of victories.

Mark Wilkinson had a good day for Rockingham, with 45 not out and 2-25, and Love Kesh also took 6-18.

In Division Four, it was a straightforward day for Maltby B as they beat Mexborough by seven wickets at Muglet Lane.

Jordan Brighton took 5-22 and Peter Brewster added 3-19 as Mexborough were dismissed for just 50.

Maltby lost just three wickets in surpassing their target, finishing on 53-3.
