Rudston Preparatory School in Rotherham turned in a superb performance last Saturday to win the latest round of the South Yorkshire Orienteers league.

The event took place at Limb Valley with the Rudston team of William Tolley (100), Matthew Fidler (99), Grace Black (98) and Saoirse Behan (97) narrowly beating the Hunters Bar Junior school squad of Euan Tryner (100), Alfie Hall (99), Josie Conduit (97) and Nikki Fathollah (96) into second place by 394 points to 392. The top four individual scores for each team count towards the final total.

In the secondary schools competition High Storrs’ 399 points from Roisin McMillan (100), Pancho Combley (100), Ryan Elliot (100) and Callum Veitch (99) narrowly edged out King Egberts’ 398 points – Elisabeth Mill (100) Hamish Mill (100) Rachel Turner (99) Rowan Finneyan (99).

The next event is at Concord Park on April 25.
