ORGANISERS of a new tennis coaching scheme hope to unearth Doncaster’s very own answer to Andy Murray.

‘Titchy tennis’ is launched at the Dome next week, offering children aged 6-10 free taster sessions before a six-week winter programme.

The course will be taught by LTA master performance coach John Willis, who is based predominantly at Hayfield School.

Youngsters who show promise at the Dome will be invited to train outdoors at Hayfield next summer.

Willis said: “The aim of the scheme is to attract a new generation of junior tennis players into the sport after this summer’s notable tennis successes of Andy Murray at both the US Open and at the Olympics.

“The course will not only help to develop specific tennis skills but also agility, balance, co-ordination and speed.”

Two free try out sessions will be held at the Dome on Tuesday, October 9th and 16th (4-5pm) before the winter course commences on October 23.

To book a place on the six-week course visit the Dome reception desk or phone 01302 370777.
