EPWORTH’S Mollie Robinson played a prominent part as girls from Hill House School won the prestigious National Independent Schools Association seven-a-side hockey championships in Cheltenham last weekend.

Mollie, pictured, led the Hill House attack, scoring a number of goals in several key victories. A draw with Hull Collegiate School was followed by victories over Dixie Grammar School, Leicester, and Stafford Grammar School.

A key win against St Edward’s Cheltenham left the Auckley team needing to win by five clear goals against Queen Ethelburga’s School, York. With Mollie to the fore, Hill House powered through in an inspired performance to win 11-0.

Hockey coach Val Hallam told us she was delighted with the success: “The team worked really hard and made huge progress. It’s great to see Hill House girls doing so well.”

Val, who represented Great Britain in goal, will be taking a coaching clinic at Hill House as part of the school’s Open Day on Saturday October 8, from 10am.
