Lorraine wins it for Carcroft

CHARLIE Everitt (21-6) and Susan Moyles (21-9) did well for Bawtry B, with Ryan Lysons’ 21-4 win coming too late to save Carcroft B from a 182-162 Doncaster Bowls Association Saturday League Section D defeat.

Dave Matthews (21-2) won the game (170-165) for Hexthorpe B at home to Rossington B.

Ivor Parlett (21-5), Brian Greaves (21-2) and Brian Turner (21-2) gave Thorne an easy 184-132 win over Pilks Rec B, for whom Calum O’Brien recorded a consolation 21-7 win.

Ray Hall (21-3) and Brian Nock and Roy Green (both 21-8) helped steer Adwick to a 151-106 Doubles League Division Three win over Bentley.

Derek Birch finished on the losing side, as Bawtry posted a a 151-141, despite winning 21-9 for Parklands.

Lorraine Burton (21-6) was the match winner for Carcroft B in their 146-132 home win over Pilks Rec C.

Brodsworth registered a 151-103 Division Four win over Westfield Park B, thanks to Janet Trigger (21-9), Lou Walker (21-6), John Trigger (21-3) and Doreen Heptinstall (21-4), with Park’s Chris Anyon winning 21-9 in reply.

Frank Law’s 21-7 win for Rossington B was cancelled out by Don Borthwick (21-6) and Alan Marsden (21-8) for Hexthorpe. B as the home side won 136-121.

Calum O’Brien (21-3) and Daniel Evans (21-4) helped Pilkingtons Rec D beat Carcroft C 141-98 in their bottom-of-the-table clash.

Rose Greaves (21-9) just failed to save league leaders Thorne from a surprise (141-139) defeat at home to Adwick B, who replaced them at the top of the table.
