Top international racer Freddie Lindgren is the latest name to be added to Ricky Ashworth’s benefit meeting at Owlerton next month.

Lindgren is back in British racing with parent club Wolverhampton after sitting out the 2014 season to focus on his Grand Prix campaign.

Having missed out on a top eight spot and a place in this year’s World Championship, he wasted no time in agreeing a deal to return to the UK.

He will take his place at Sheffield on Sunday, March 22, in a meeting which has captured the imagination of fans throughout the country with a bumper turnout expected to support Ashworth.

The former Sheffield racer suffered brain damage in a track crash in 2013 and work is needed to adapt his Salford base.

Lindgren is happy to lend his support and get some vital early season laps alongside fellow Wolves stars Peter Karlsson and Jacob Thorssell.

There will also be a special appearance from 2000 World Champion Mark Loram, Ricky’s favourite rider of all-time.

Fans and businesses can donate direct to Ashworth’s benefit fund. The details are: Ricky’s Big Day, Yorkshire Bank, Alfreton. Sort code 05.02.11. Account no 48008573.
