Former Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid striker Michael Owen has scored another win - this time with his horse, Angelic Lord, during the opening day of Doncaster’s St Leger Festival.

The ex-England striker-turned-racing owner and football pundit saw his two-year-old Bay Colt, ridden by jockey Richard Kingscote, gallop ahead of Markaz and Fuwairt to claim the 2.30pm gong at the Town Moor venue.

Today’s packed programme at Doncaster includes races at 3pm, 3.35pm, 4.10pm, 4.45pm and 5.15pm.
