DONCASTER Town slumped to an eight-wicket Barnsley and District Cricket League Division One defeat at home to Taj Mahal.

Town elected to bat but only No 6 Mark Lockwood (29) and No 7 Ryan Capstick (20) made any impact in their 97 all out. The visitors knocked off the required runs in less than 22 overs.

Brodsworth Main fourths beat visiting Mexborough Athletic by 67 runs in Division Two.

Put into bat, Main made 98-9 with No 6 Andrew Warren (31) leading the way. Steven Honeyman took 4-44 and Philip Howell 3-35.

In reply, Mexborough were all out for 31 in 16.1 overs. Junior Elliott Hayden top-scored with six as Scott Hopkinson checked in with 6-10 in eight overs and Karl Buxton chipped in with 3-19.

A 5-29 haul by Dave Lee helped put the skids under Thorncliffe Sunday seconds in their Division Three clash at Tickhill thirds.

The Doncaster side knocked off the required runs for the loss of five wickets in 31 overs with junior opener James Henderson (31) top-scoring.
