Green shines in Adwick triumph

PILKINGTON Recreation posted a 151-142 Doncaster Bowls Over-60s League Division One victory at Askern.

Roy Green (21-4) starred for Adwick in their 141-128 Division Two win over Eden Grove-Pegler, for whom John Humphrey (21-7) stood out.

Bob Knibbs (21-8) gave Westfield Park a good start, but Rossington hit back with wins from Malcolm Needham (21-7) and Ken Sanders (21-9) to claim a 152-116 victory.

Ivor Parlett (21-8), Harold Hawson (21-8) and Joe Taylor (21-6) all showed up well for Thorne in their 166-84 win over Yorkshire Main B.

Ken Crowcroft (21-8) was the top performer for Yorkshire Main in their 142-124 victory over Brodsworth.

Terry Mosley (21-6) and Glennis Crowcroft (21-4) were on fine form for Yorkshire Main in their narrow 124-119 win at Eden Grove-Peglers, well served by Danny Ruffini (21-7) and Glenyse Cullingworth (21-8).

Bill Fletcher (21-8), Roy Green (21-8) and Val Cooper (21-4) fall featured for Adwick in their 148-119 win at at Westfield Park. Percy Simpson led the way for Rossington in their 161-113 victory at Yorkshire Main B with a 21-2 win.

Alan Love (21-4) and Colin Stothard (21-9) both performed well for Bawtry B in their 157-117 Division Three win over Rossington B.

Bob Peaker’s 21-7 win for Mexborough had little impact on the match result as the visitors lost 144-132 at Bentley Colliery.

John Stead won 21-7 for Hexthorpe as they beat Adwick B 152-132. Alan Love (21-7) was the only winner for the visitors.

Askern carded an 80-67 Over-60s Doubles League Division One win at Yorkshire Main.
