All eyes turn to Doncaster this weekend for the start of the Flat season 2012 with the famous curtain-raiser - the William Hill Lincoln Handicap.
Eton Forever is 6-1 favourite with the big-race sponsors.
Roger Varian’s charge landed the Lincoln consolation race – the Spring Mile – 12 months ago, and has been consistently prominent in the betting for the main event this time around. Cheveley Park contender Fury, well supported since betting opened, is next in at 7-1, ahead of the James Fanshawe-trained Primeaval at 11-1.
Marco Botti’s Cocozza is set to make his first appearance since leaving John Oxx, and is 10-1.
Cocozza was as big as 20-1 when William Hill first opened betting.
William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said: “The front two saw the best of the early money in the run-up, but attentions turned to Cheveley contender Fury with punters already flexing their talons ahead of the new Flat season.”
The draw for the famous handicap will take place tomorrow.
