DONCASTER DARTES: Joe Litchfield lands four golds

There was another feast of medals for Doncaster Dartes’ swimmers in the second of the North East Regional Age Group Championships at the John Charles Centre in Leeds.

Joe Litchfield (13) grabbed all four gold medals in his age-group as he touched home in first place in the 100m butterfly, 200m breaststroke - where he destroyed the field - 200m Individual medley and 200m backstroke.

Jarvis Parkinson (13) defied a knee injury to claim a silver in the 100m freestyle and a bronze in 100m butterfly. He just missed out on a medal in the 200m individual medley when finishing fourth.

Alex Pollard (13) had a busy weekend, competing in five events and reaching the final in every one, which equated to ten swims. He claimed a silver in the 200m backstroke, was fourth in the 100m butterfly and fifth in the 100m freestyle.

George Scatchard (14) grabbed a silver medal in the 200m backstroke. He was sixth in the 200m individual medley and seventh in the 200m breaststroke.

Mark Beech (12) touched home in the silver medal in the 200m backstroke. He was sixth in the 400m freestyle. The vastly improved Matthew Jubb (11) just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the 100m freestyle. Oswald Hood (12) claimed fifth place in the 200m breastroke.

Young Bradley Hurdiss, who is only 10, did well against older rivals in the 200m backstroke when finishing tenth. Joe Gatus (12) also finished tenth in the 100m freestyle.

Shannon Dodson (14) picked up three silver medals in the 400m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley. She also finished fourth in the 100m butterfly.

Natasha Crow (13) was fourth in the 100m butterfly and fifth in both the 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle events. Laura Brookes (11) came ninth in the 200m individual medley and tenth in the 400m freestyle.

Georgia Wright (13) came seventh in the 200m backstroke in her first NERC, and Georgia Stead (14) was 10th in the 200m breaststroke. Chantelle Waugh (10) was fifth in the 100m butterfly and seventh in the 400m freestyle. Gill Clarke claimed eighth place in the 200m breaststroke.

Chloe Hardy (13) bagged ninth spot in the 200m backstroke and Katie Pendlebury (13) finished tenth in the 100m butterfly.
