Deere leads the way in big Parklands victory


PARKLANDS, for whom Cory Deere top-scored with 36, picked up a six-wicket Solly Sports South Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Premier Division win at Whiston Meths.

Meths had earlier been bowled out for 74, Graham Langford taking 4-16 and Craig Taylor 4-7.

Caribbean (Waheed Bhatti (40) also posted a six-wicket win at Handsworth, who were dismissed for 77 - Abdul Latif taking 5-26.

Kilnhurst, for whom Daniel Whitehouse 92, David Plummer 89 starred in their knock of 230-9 (Chris Ferris 5-39, Simon Sverdloff 3-40) beat Harley 124 (Lee Moxon 40no, Matthew Kingston 25,) by 106 runs. Ryan Morton took 3-25.

In-form Adwick-le-Street (Liam Bishop 43, Jamie Walton 26, Paul Bishop 27, Colin Bishop 24) defied Andrew Leiper (5-50) and Harry Ashton (3-41) to make a match-winning 180 at Sheffield United, who were all out for 47 in reply - Carl Newbold (3-0) and Adam Sturman (3-37).

Darren Snow was the star of Adwick-on-Dearne’s 28-run Division One win over Wentworth.

Snow, who received good support from Simon Askew (33), hit a top-score 60 in Adwick’s 143 - Chris Stead (5-34). Snow then took 7-27 in Wentworth’s reply of 115 (Dave Watson 35).

Caribbean (133-9) scraped a one-wicket win at Eden Grove. The Doncaster side (Anthony Cator 26, Lee Chipp Smith 27) had earlier made 130 all out - Christopher Moxom (4-14) and Asif Iqbal (3-22). John Ryan (24,) and Gilbert Whyte (34no) saw the Sheffield side home. Chipp Smith took 3-25 for Grove.

Forgemasters 217 (Stephen Bows 74, David Thompson 33, Steven Bell 25) beat Scholes by 45 runs. Ryan Linney (4-31) and Kaz Alam (3-54) were the pick of the Scholes’ bowlers with Robert Bateman (71) and Gultasab Yaqoob (34) leading the way with the bat in their reply of 172. Bell (3-53),

Hampole & Skelbrooke were all out for 66 at home to High Green - David Guest (23) top-scoring as Richard Taylor (3-21) and Alistair MacDonald (3-21) shone with the ball.

High Green (Chris Fisher 40no) were 70-6 in reply. Kevin Beresford took three of the wickets to fall. Denaby & Cadeby (William Finney 37, Craig Cooper 25) were all out for 109 in their Division Two clash at home to Shiregreen, for whom Azar Shabere took 4-38 and Billy Haigh 3-10. Sohail Mohammed made 62 in Shiregreen’s seven-wicket win.

A 4-26 haul by Mike Davies helped Harworth bowl out Doncaster rivals Hatfield Main for 90. Richard Bartle (38) and Simon Davies (36) shared the batting honours in Harworth’s reply of 91-4. Ryan Hatton grabbed 3-25.

Whiston Meths conceded against visiting Tinsley.

Brookhouse 96-7 (Ronald Cushing 40) defied a 3-19 haul by Martin Fisher to make a winning 96-7 in their Division Three clash at Adwick-on-Dearne, who had earlier made 95 all out (Robert Gamble 33).
