Danum Eagles are having a ball thanks to Doncaster-based Social Enterprise Flying Futures.

The thriving basketball club recently received a donation of 60 balls courtesy of the Hatfield company.

Eagles head coach Bob Martin said: “The donation of the brand new basketballs means that more people can take part and learn new skills.

“The donation will also attract new members, which is a great boost for the community in general.”

Flying Futures, based in Hatfield, is a non for profit Community Interest Company that manages and delivers a range of social programmes across Yorkshire to bring about effective change to communities. This is done primarily through the use of sports, mentoring, alternative provisions and citizenship programmes with young people aged between 10 and 19 years.

Danum Eagles are committed to encouraging young people and their families to raise their aspirations for the future and develop the self-discipline, reliability and team working skills that will help them to achieve their wider goals.

The club runs training sessions for children at Danum Lower School on Saturday mornings from 10-11.30am.
